Brad Athouse is a pianist, teacher, sound artist, audio engineer and composer for several commercial and artistic mediums. His music ranges genres from classical piano to industrial sound-scapes.  He is equally at home composing for raw dramatic material, as well as modern horror film.

Brad began his musical training early, rigorously studying classical piano at four years of age.  He cut his teeth both as an audio engineer and performer in the Philadelphia rock scene, recording local groups and his own music projects out of his basement studio.  A proficient percussionist, guitarist, classical thereminist and analog synth enthusiast, Brad continues to work "out of the box," making extensive use of live instruments, analog tape machines and vintage outboard effects.

Brad continued his classical piano study at Greenville College under the direction of Dr. Yeeseon Kwon, also while studying studio engineering and music composition.  From there he completed his masters in Music Composition for the Screen at Columbia College under the tutelage of Andy Hill and Hummie Mann.

To date Brad has contributed to numerous film, visual, and multi-media projects. His freshmen full length score for Six Foot Hampster Film's "Horrid" received much critical praise in both the U.S. and overseas while making it's run through the horror movie circuit.  His Children's sci-fi/Christmas musical, "We Come in Peace" made its debut in 2010 with the Christ Lutheran Church Children's choir in Palatine, IL.

Most recently Brad has signed on to Chicago based industrial/steampunk act, "V is for Villains" playing lead guitar and synth.   The new band, made up of former "Digital Mindy" band-mates, will be hitting the Chicago rock scene full force in June, 2011.  This multi-media driven collaboration will be something Chicago industrial fans will not want to miss.

As a pianist, Brad performs both solo and with ensemble groups. He is an active adjudicator, and teaches both piano and guitar in his home studio and with North Shore Music Institute in Northfield, IL.
